[Top Ten Tuesday] (15)

This is a meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish where each week bloggers share a list of books for the prompt given.

bookish resolutions

1.GET CREATIVE & PERSONAL
In 2013 I have been focusing a lot on hosting Cover Reveals and Book Tours. But I realized that it wasn't what I wanted to be known for and started to post more reviews and memes. This year I really want to connect with my followers and really show them who I am as a person.

2.COMMENTS
I have been pretty good about returning comments but I completely missed out on following Bloglovin and discovering amazing blog posts. 2014 will be when I will be on the hunt for awesome posts and you'll know when I was there *wink*

3.PREVENT BURNING OUT
Around September 2013 I had a complete blogger burnout. I didn't want to think about blogs, books, or anything to do with this community. I know it sounds very rude and I really didn't want it to happen, I just couldn't help myself. I think it was because I requested so many blog tours and books, that I gave up. I'm glad to be over that stage and really exciting to start fresh.

4.Work on NetGalley & Edelweiss
We all know the crazy feeling that we get when we see an awesome book and request it right away. So then you end up with 30 copies that are all being released within a month and you want to get your review before that. Well I'm going to try to ACTUALLY read them before request anything lol But yea... I don't know if that's actually going to happen haha

 personal resolutions

5.get haircut more often
6.watch less tv
7.get involved with charity
8.do at least 3 marathons (in 2013 i did 2 5k)
9.be more social
10.visit at least 3 new states

  3. Good luck with all of your goals for this year!! That is awesome that you want to complete 3 marathons. My husband is a marathon runner, but I prefer sprint distance triathlons because there is a little less impact.

I completely understand your issue with Netgalley/Edelweiss. I held off joining for just that reason.

Thanks for stopping by my TTT!

  4. Yay, someone else is striving to be more social! I put that on my resolution list as well, but I have a real bad feeling that that particular resolution will be my downfall. I am hard to warm up to new people. I think it's because I am afraid to be too much of myself. I think it might overwhelm newbies to how passionate I am about my books I read and my own writing. So I always try to be a toned down version of myself. It can be frustrating to say the least! But at least with blogging, I can converse--through comments--with other bloggers and know that I am totally normal!

Good luck with all your resolutions! And how awesome you did all those runs! My sister had a running streak herself the last two years, this year, not so much. Me, I'm more of a walker than a runner! Good luck again!

    Here's my Tuesday post

    Have a GREAT day!

    1. I know exactly what you mean. Plus there are so many different blogs out there that it's hard to really completely and fully be yourself

  5. I think a lot of people need to work on the Netgalley and Edelweiss books! I know I definitely need to. :) Great list of goals!

  6. I love your resolutions, Ellie, both the bookish ones and the personal ones. I'm in awe at your running! I don't enjoy running, but it is so great that you ran two 5K marathons in 2013.
I hope you'll reach all your goals :)

  10. Oh, working on my NetGalley reading/reviewing percentage is on my list for this year, too. I've been abusing the privilege, and I really need to do better in 2014. I also should have included improved commenting in my resolutions! It's something I take for granted, but it's so important to community!

Thanks for sharing your list - and best of luck!

  11. I like your idea for Commenting more, I often want to do this but it is hard to do if people only review books you've never read.

Great list, except for the idea of being more sociable :P

    1. OMG, I know! I made a resolution for 2014 - if I read it, I have to comment on it, and I've been doing it, but sometimes the comment is "thanks for sharing your thoughts on this book. It looks like a good read" or something kinda lame like that. LOL!

    2. I do agree with you! But it good to find books that you never heard of before

  12. I need to work on the amount of books I request from Netgalley and commenting on other blogs more. Good luck with all your goals this year!

  14. Blogger burnout has really been going around this year, hasn't it? It's so easy to get overwhelmed in this gig! Good luck on all your goals -- I think the more you work on them, the less stressed and overwhelmed you'll feel. I hope so, anyway!

  17. Oh yeah, I have a bunch of books on Netgalley too. And I'm always procrastinating on my haircut appointments. >_>

Amazing goals, and good luck! I love your goal on changing your blog's direction to a more personal one. I've always found the more personal ones to be interesting, revealing the owner's quirks and nuances and all.

  18. Getting creative and personal are great goals! That's something that I could work with, too, to bring more of my personality to my blog so that people could learn to know me.

  19. I love your first goal! I've said it on a couple of blogs for this week's topic, but I really think blogging has such huuuge potential, but we rarely use it!!! I think more personal posts and stuff like that make blogs so much more interesting, because you really get to know the blogger!

  20. Good luck with everything!
Requesting less review books seems to making it's way on to everyone's lists. Lol. #bookbloggerproblems
