[Book Review] Iron King by Julie Kagawa

The Iron King (The Iron Fey, #1)Iron King
Julie Kagawa
Meghan Chase has a secret destiny; one she could never have imagined.

Something has always felt slightly off in Meghan's life, ever since her father disappeared before her eyes when she was six. She has never quite fit in at school or at home.

When a dark stranger begins watching her from afar, and her prankster best friend becomes strangely protective of her, Meghan senses that everything she's known is about to change.

But she could never have guessed the truth - that she is the daughter of a mythical faery king and is a pawn in a deadly war. Now Meghan will learn just how far she'll go to save someone she cares about, to stop a mysterious evil, no faery creature dare face; and to find love with a young prince who might rather see her dead than let her touch his icy heart.

Meghan Chase is not a regular girl and she didn’t even know it. When her father disappeared, she was devastated but there is nothing she could do. Her mother married another man, she went to high school and life seemed okay until a cruel joke in high school. Running home in tears, she found her 4-year old step-brother standing by her unconscious mother and constantly she knows something is off.

After discovering that Ethan has been kidnapped and replaced by change-link, she has to go to the Nevernever Land where creatures of human imaginations live and save her brother. But meeting Fey and discovering who she really is will change her life forever.

This was absolutely amazing!! Now I definitely know what the buzz is all about. It seemed like I was going into an insane adventure world with never ending actions plots and unexpected twists and multiple story plots. This was not your average faerie story and all of the characters really stood out to me. Author’s writing was easy to read and it made me really visualize the scenes that were happening as the story went on. My favorite character has to be Grimalkin, Meghan’s companion in a Cheshire-like cat. I want him to become human and marry me! Now! Cannot wait to pick up second book in this series!
